I can handle your source files in format .doc, .rtf (MS Word), .xls (MS Excel), .ppt (MS Powerpoint), .txt, .html, .xml, .pdf and all other picture and paper formats.

Languages

In accordance with codes of practice in the field of translation, I translate exclusively into my mother tongue, French, thus ensuring that my work is always of high quality. My source languages are English, German and Russian, all of which I have been using for many years. Moreover, I have university degrees for all of them, namely a Bachelor's degree in German Studies, a translation degree in four languages from the IPLV (Angers, France) and a Russian degree from Donetsk University (Ukraine).

My knowledge of my source languages never goes out of date: I regularly travel to countries where they are spoken, I am an avid reader in all three languages (as well as French!) and I follow their news in the press and other media.

A sound knowledge of Ukrainian allows me to work from this language occasionally, on general topics. Any request in this pair will be considered.

Expertise

Extensive experience as an in-house translator in an agency, and then as a freelancer, allowed me to develop an expertise in several working fields, among which:

- IT, telecommunications and consumer electronics
- mechanical engineering, automotive and technical
- legal
- business communication, commercial, marketing

My knowledge, combined with a strong research and documentation ability, allows me to handle a variety of subject matters without compromising on quality. Therefore I also work in other fields, such as logistics, urbanism, tourism, human resources, etc.

In the past, I have successfully contributed to many types of documents, spanning user guides, Websites, contracts, press releases, brochures, online help systems, packaging , to name but a few.

Prices

In my opinion, price transparency is a key element to a customer relationship. With Almaz Trad, prices are not defined by any subjective criteria. All invoiced services are agreed to in advance, no nasty surprises!

My translation services are charged per source word, with a different price for each source language:

All other linguistic services, including proofreading, are charged by the hour, with a price for each source language:

For very small translation requests, a minimal fee equal to the hourly rate applies. However, for regular customers, I can offer a system of open order for small and frequent volumes.
